Hi y’all. The Farmville team has added a new seed called the Sweet Potato crop. This special crop is part of a great charity cause. 50% of the proceeds of the Sweet Seeds campaign goes to children in need in Haiti. So now you can tell your significant other who harps on you for playing this stupid farm game that you’re doing it for a good cause! And that’s something to feel good about.
The purchasing of these crops is different than most crops so listen up. You pay once 25 farmville cash points to get a 1 week license to buy the crops. The seeds then cost 10 coins each, earns 125 coins, 3 XP, and harvest in one day. Another nice benefit is these special plants never whither. Low on farmville cash? You can get 25 farmville cash points for just $5 USD.

In addition, when you purchase the license you get a one of a kind gift, a sweet seeds flag…

This is a really great idea. I hope that Zynga will consider doing charity causes again in the future.
UPDATE
Here’s a picture of what the sweet potato crop looks like when ready for harvest.

Hello Y’all. I’ve updated the Market Inventory page with all the lovely crops up to level 20 (because that’s where I’m at right now). This inventory page measures the expected profit and experience you can gain from each crop over a week’s time. Grapes currently are the most profitable crop a level 20 can plant.

Howdy Partners. Here’s my first tip to all you new farmers out thar.
When you first start playing Farmville, you’ll have 6 plots of land plowed and some will have plants growing. What you may not know, is that you can actually plant in more than just those 6 squares. Click on the plow icon (green tool in lower right) and you can start plowing in any of the green areas of your land.
But be sure to stick to some sort of uniform grid so that you don’t waste any space. This will become important later. Also remember that every square you plow will cost you 15 coins.
Once the land has been plowed, you can start planting new seeds and making money.
