Revisiting FarmVille

In November of 09 I stopped playing Farmville to attend to family obligations. I began playing again in December and January. But then stopped again in late January. I had actually completely blocked the application on Facebook so that I’d no longer see updates from friends, tempting me to return.

But as we approach the 1 year anniversary of HarvestGuide.net (and it’s domain’s renewal) I’ve found myself interested in going back to the farm to see how things have changed and decide whether or not I want to start playing again.

My initial reactions are that the game is a hell of a lot more complex than it used to be. I’m impressed by the work that Zynga has put into the game to bring it to a new level. But I also find the constant pop ups asking me to play Mafia Wars and help on a neighbor’s farm to be very annoying. You can’t go more than 1 minute without some other crap popping up on the screen.

And now I’m at a stage where I need to play catch up if I want to continue this blog. I’m going to continue my one week trial with the new Farmville and come back with more in depth analysis soon.

Market Inventory Updated

Hello Y’all. I’ve updated the Market Inventory page with all the lovely crops up to level 20 (because that’s where I’m at right now). This inventory page measures the expected profit and experience you can gain from each crop over a week’s time. Grapes currently are the most profitable crop a level 20 can plant.
